Legends National Qualifier Makeup Feature Event

Attention Lake Erie Speedway Legends Competitors: Lake Erie Speedway and U.S. Legend Cars International have agreed to make up the rained out Saturday, June 1st Legends National Qualifier on Saturday, June 29th. The Legends competitors that were present on Saturday, June 1st will be the only competitors allowed to participate in the makeup Legends National Qualifier feature event on Saturday, June 29th.  Lake Erie Speedway encourages other Legends competitors to come to the June 29th event since there will be a second feature scheduled, which will award both INEX and Lake Erie Speedway points. U.S. Legend Cars International is working with Lake Erie Speedway for a possible second National Qualifier Event for later in the season for all of the drivers that did not make the June 1st event due to weather.  Lake Erie Speedway officials will spread out the Legends feature events to give competitors that are running both feature events enough time to prepare accordingly.

Saturday, June 29th Scenarios

Lake Erie Speedway officials have decided to eliminate the Legends heat races for Saturday, June 29th in the best interest of the competitors in relation to scheduling for the night.  Listed below are three possible scenarios for the second Legends feature line up in which every Legends competitor will be eligible.  In regards to the make up Legends National Qualifier feature event on Saturday, June 29th, the make up feature line was set and determined by heat races that were completed on Saturday, June 1st.  The Legends National Qualifier feature event will be run only by the competitors that were present on June 1st and will be based on their finishing position in the heat races that took place on June 1st

Scenario One: 1-32 Legends Cars

1. If there are 1-32 cars there will be European/group style qualifying in a final practice round.

2. Legends cars will be sent out for a final practice 5-6 cars at a time based on your U.S. Legends Car International division (Young Lion/Semi Pro, Pro/Master). After you qualify we will take your best lap time.

3. Qualifying results will be put in order based on your best lap time in that final practice.

4. During the opening ceremonies there will be a sponsored invert game on the front stretch in front of the crowd for the feature event starting lineup. (Ex. If the invert is 10 the fast qualifier will start in the tenth position for the feature)


Scenario Two: 33 or more Legends cars (Optional vote to split)

1. If the Legends competitors vote to split the field Lake Erie Speedway will divide the Legends division into Young Lions/Semi Pro and Pro/Masters.

2. Legends cars will be sent out for a final practice 5-6 cars at a time based on your U.S. Legends Car International division (Young Lion/Semi Pro, Pro/Master). After you qualify we will take your best lap time.

3. Qualifying results will be put in order based on your best lap time in that final practice (Young Lion/Semi Pro, Pro/Master).

4. Scenario Three: 33 or more Legends cars (
Optional vote to not split)

1. If there are 33+ cars and there is a vote to NOT split the field there will be European/group style qualifying during a final practice round.

2. Legends cars will be sent out for a final practice 5-6 cars at a time based on their U.S. Legends Car International division (Young Lion/Semi Pro, Pro/Master). After you qualify we will take your best lap time.

3. Qualifying results will be put in order based on your best lap time in that final practice.

5. The top 24 qualifiers will be locked into the feature event.

6. All other competitors that are not locked in will compete in a 12 lap B-Main/Consolation race event for the remaining eight (8) starting spots in the feature event.

7. During the opening ceremonies there will be a sponsored invert game on the front stretch in front of the crowd for the feature event starting lineup for both features. (Ex. If the invert is 10 the fast qualifier will start in the tenth position for the feature)

8. Feature points will be on the 50 point scale dropping two (2) points per position until 10 points.

9. All positions after 21st place each driver will receive 10 Lake Erie Speedway points even if the competitor did not make the feature event.

10. The competitors that do not make the feature event will receive $30 for attempting to qualify.
